Jimmy Lovett from Henderson, Nevada, was chosen by the USTA Junior competition committee as the 2007-08 United States Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete of the Year in the State of Nevada.

"It is very rare that you find a student who excels at the top of his field nationally in both academics and athletics," said USTA-Nevada Executive Director Ryan Wolfington. "I remember he was getting up at 5 am daily to train for two hours before school, then a few hours after school, then studied all night and did it all over again, playing tournaments on weekends. He is the perfect example of all around excellence and a great inspiration for all players."

Ranked #3 in the USTA-Intermountain section, this player, developed by Saad Ashraf of NETT Academy, is also an accomplished pianist. "She is pretty much an all around good kid," said Saad Ashraf. "She is the hardest worker in my group of kids that I coach, she processes information very well, and she loves to compete. I have seen her get scared, but I have never seen her quit in a match."
