Jimmy Lovett from Henderson, Nevada, was chosen by the USTA Junior competition committee as the 2007-08 United States Tennis Association Scholar-Athlete of the Year in the State of Nevada. "It is very rare that you find a student who excels at the top of his field nationally in both academics and athletics," said USTA-Nevada Executive Director Ryan Wolfington. "I remember he was getting up at 5 am daily to train for two hours before school, then a few hours after school, then studied all night and did it all over again, playing tournaments on weekends. He is the perfect example of all around excellence and a great inspiration for all players." |
