Day 3
Not surprisingly, the third day at the tennis channel open was full of hard fought matches. The day was as beautiful as could be. Spectators thronged in plenty. There was buzz all around

Matches started 10:00am sharp. Interesting play took place between Luczak and Miryni, Zverey and Anderson, Korolov and Roitman, Guccione and Kunitsyn, Johansson and Canas, Kiefer and Becker, Lucic and Panova, Querrey and Grosjean, Genepri and Malisse and Safin and Hewitt

The tenision filled match was between American Sam Querrey and Frenchman Grosjean. Querrey winning the first set lost concentration in the second set. In the third set Querrey and Grosjean were hand in hand. It was the tie breaker in the third set that put Sam Querrey ahead, 62,46,76(8)

The match between Kiefer and Becker was also played hard. Through out the match, there were ups and downs, for both players. The better player this day won. 64, 63 Kiefer went ahead and will play Querrey tomorrow. This will be a good match to watch

Canas was at his best. He took the challenge to Johannson. Although Johansson played very well but hardworking Canas outclassed Johannson convincingly 63, 76(3). Canas now meets Kiefer. Canas’s talent puts him as favourite

Another competitive match was between Korolov and Roitman. Korolov worked and fought hard. In the end winning this match 64,46,63

Genepri played against Malisse. Genepri losing the first set picked up his form and beat Malisse 26, 63, 64 in a three sets

Match of the day was between Hewitt and Safin. Safin was his volatile self. Hewitt played a calculated game. Safin could not match Hewitt’s consistent play and felt frustrated. Hewiit won in straight sets 62,61. Safin packs his bag and leaves
