This year the Tennis Channel Open has an advantage over the 2 that have already past, the weather. For the last two years the weather during this pro tournament was cold and extremely windy throughout the entire week. This year the conditions in Las Vegas during the 3rd to 9 of march temperature will be a steady high 60 degrees and partly cloudy and breezy on Wednesday.

Despite the fact that we are in the end of February the temperature is perfect for tennis fans to come out and watch this sport. Fernando Gonzalez, Lleyton Hewitt, Marcos Baghdatis, and Guillermo Canas are the highest ranked players in this tournament

Gonzalez is 14 in the world and won this years Movistar Open in Vina del Mar,Chile and 2007 Australian Open runner up.Lleyton Hewitt is 18 in the world a former number 1 player and made it to Round of 16 in this years Australian Open Grand Slam event.Baghdatis is 20 in the world and was runner up to 2006 Australian Open and semi-finalist in the 2008 Marseille tournament. Guillermo Canas is 22 in the world 2007 Costa Do Sauipe, Brazil champion and has a winning record over number 1 in the world Roger Federer. There is not one player in this years main draw below a ranking of 80 in the world

The main draw that was held today at approximately 3 p.m. caught and delighted peoples attention, one of the many reasons were that Marat Safin and Lleyton Hewitt have to against each other first round. Both of these players were once number 1 in the world in which the quality of this match would feel as if it were a final. During the press release of the main draw Mayor Oscar Goodman stated,'This is a teriffic time of year, the first two years of weather condition were tough but now we'll make up for it'. I am extremely excited for this tournament and can't wait for it to begin mainly because of so many high quality players.
